me and my friend are trying to install gentoo via SSHd over the net....
we boot up setup a root password start sshd and connect.... that all works...
but trying to get both computers on the same screen isnt working...
anyone know how to do this?... or how to do this install through SSHD... |

you could try using screen. tell your friend to type screen or screen -S "somename", then you can pass the screen -x "somename" and you should be able to do it. if you can't find what it is do screen -ls and use the PID as somename. _________________ Programming is the process of putting bugs in.

What do you mean by "trying to get them on the same screen"?
When you're in an SSH session you are root just as you were when you installed your own. They won't be able to see what you are doing (unless they want to watch you by continuously running ps aux) |

oops, i posted right after smoeone else's response. i guess i've never used screen, i've just ssh'ed and did it myself |
