Hi everybody,
I have installed Skype 1.0.0.20. It is working but when I call somebody there are big delaytimes between the words I spoke and the received words. Is there anything to do with alsa? Anything realtime belonging?
Has anybody ever had such a problem? I switche to Windows and voila it worked quite normal. So it cannot depend on the network or any firewall adjustment.
Thanks for your help...

Hm I also had huge delays and stuff but that was when using arts. You seem to use alsa... Guess you haven't got any delays from other sound sources on the system?
Maybe the mmap function matters here? _________________ printf("format string what?"); |

as j0elbYte said, disable arts from the control center. I had the same problem and now skype is playing find. I really think that arts should be replaced in kde... |

Thanks, I have disabled arts now.
Starting skype gives me the following message:
No running artsd or esd found
Starting skype without sound daemon
==========================================
But now there is no Sound at all in KDE... How should I handle that?
