What error do you get when you try to mount it and what does your fstab looks like?

file a bug. the usb-storage driver is having trouble reading the partition table - nothing you can do without jumping into the code

try mount /dev/sda (not /dev/sda1 !!!) and be sure that vfat is loaded ...

This was a user error issue. The bug has been closed.

It seems that with this particular flash drive it has to have a card in it when it is plugged in

i noticed in the dmesg that it was being assigned to sda

Code:

Attached scsi removable disk sda at scsi3, channel 0, id 0, lun 0
Attached scsi generic sg0 at scsi3, channel 0, id 0, lun 0,  type 0

So if i do a
Code:

cfdisk /dev/sda

I see that the file system is located at /dev/sda1

now i can mount the USB drive

n00b error again :)

Thanks for the help
