OK, I've done some looking around, and from what the xmms website says, all I need to compile xmms is gtk. In my CFLAGS, I included -kde -qt, because I won't really be using kde at all. But when I emerge -p xmms, it says it wants to compile qt into the system. How is it getting this in the emerge list if I've used -qt in make.conf? Does xmms actually not work without it?
(quasi) unnecessary gripe:
I'm in Maryland at the moment, and the hotel provides high-speed internet (both wired and wireless), but for some reason I can't get dhcpcd to get me an ip with either one. Maybe they're set up to use something different that windows picked up automatically. Oh well, I can live without my gentoo toy for a little while....I guess... |

Code: | emerge --pretend --verbose --tree xmms | will give you more clues as to which dependency of XMMS pulls in QT. _________________ Military Commissions Act of 2006: http://tinyurl.com/jrcto

I bet you haven't written "-arts" in your make.conf, that's the problem.
If arts is activated, it will also emerge qt. So disable it. _________________ e17 documentation | Be free and use Jabber as your IM! | Combine IRC and IM |
