Problems with Kernel >=2.6.10 and my LCD screen

Hi there,

I've recently updated to kernel 2.6.11 because this provides some stuff I can really good use with my Thinkpad notebook. Also I updated to udev.
The problem: If I boot to 2.6.11 there comes the message "Uncompressing linux.....", then the screen goes blank and if I wait long enough X comes up.
So I can use the computer almost normal. Only the console doesn't show up. Anyone an idea what this could be?
In kernel 2.6.9 everything works perfectly - so udev can't be the reason I think
