|
|
I've been trying to get my visualizations to work for xmms lately and haven't been having any luck. It keeps saying something about sdl-config :
Code: | checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc option to accept ANSI C... (cached) none needed
checking dependency style of i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc... (cached) none
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /bin/install -c
checking for working alloca.h... yes
checking for alloca... yes
checking for freetype-config... /usr/bin/freetype-config
checking for sdl-config... /usr/bin/sdl-config
checking for SDL - version >= 1.2.4... no
*** Could not run SDL test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means SDL was incorrectly installed
*** or that you have moved SDL since it was installed. In the latter case, you
*** may want to edit the sdl-config script: /usr/bin/sdl-config
configure: error: *** SDL version 1.2.4 not found!
!!! Please attach the config.log to your bug report:
!!! /var/tmp/portage/sdl-ttf-2.0.7/work/SDL_ttf-2.0.7/config.log

If you really want to see that file, I'll post it, but its really long, and this ain't exactly the place for bug reports..
Any help is greatly appreciated. _________________ System1

What is the output of this command??
This will tell you if your have sdl installed and if you do, then what version you have.
The other thing I've come across is updating a library (like directfb for example) can break other things one your system (like SDL), so you might want to make sure you have "gentoolkit" emerged, and then run the following command:
This will search you machine for packages that were broken due to an upgraded dependency and then rebuild them.
I belive that likely this latter situation is the case on you computer. |
