Im trying to install linux on my friends pc here, he uses a 2x120gb sata disks in raid 0 mode.
How can i proced?
O searched and found something about software raid, but isnt it suported by hardware?
The disk is already partitioned but it can be redone, any help? _________________ ------------------------------------

You just need to find the drivers for that SATA card and the hardware SHOULD do the rest.
The hardware should make it look like it's only 1 drive. |

thats exactly what i want
how do i know which driver it is?
the chipset is nforce2, i guess it is promise chip.. i try it :p _________________ ------------------------------------

how would it be named? /dev/ ?
i tried to load sata_promise driver but still no change at all... any idea what kind of driver would it be?
i tryed also raid0 in the drivers/md but i doesnt seem to work _________________ ------------------------------------

First you have to find out if you actually have a hardware RAID controller. See the SATA RAID FAQ. |

It's NOT hardware RAID!
It's icky, slimy software raid. Except you can't fiddle with it while the system's running. So it's awful software RAID at that...
Hardware RAID only comes on expensive 3Ware Escalades. Or Arecas. Or Adaptecs. But not on every $50 nForce2 board that pops up |
