I'm on an HP zv5430us, and I've followed this line of laptop's thread (https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-260806-highlight-zv5000.html), which has a howto on getting many things working, including the wireless card. I followed the directions and have wireless-tools installed, but whenever I try to do anything to wlan0, it says the device isn't found. In my kernel, I enabled the generic "Wireless LAN drivers (non-hamradio) & Wireless Extensions" option, but none of the options below that seemed to apply to my Broadcom card. Am I mistaken? Does anybody know why this card might not be showing up? |

well, read about the chipset being built into your wireless lan card... if you're lucky it will be in the kernel or some ebuild will install the drivers (as for acx100 drivers for dlink/us robotics wireless cards). if not, you need to use ndiswrapper using the windows drivers. |
