How to get nice X with Acer Travelmate laptops

I have confirmed this on Acer Travelmate230.
in X by default BIOS setting, X wont work well. you cannot get 1024x768resolutions(only in console with video= statement)
so what we gonna do is little easy tweak in bios

reboot your box -> press F2 and go to bios -> go to video setting -> change VGA memory from 1MB to 8MB

thats all.

now your X should work in 1024x768 mode.
