i would never have known they indicated a problem, except that i also keep getting messages like this in my inbox:
Code: |
Hi, this is the mlmmj program managing the mailinglist
gentoo-announce@robin.gentoo.org
Some messages to you could not be delivered. If you're getting this
message it means things are back to normal, and it's merely for your
information.

the message tells me that the problem is resolved (im obviously recieving email if i can recieve the above message), but i never recieve any actual security alerts. instead, i just get the above notification in my inbox every day. this problem is not limited to gentoo security alerts either (i occasionally see "timeout after DATA" messages from other hosts), but i cant reproduce it for the life of me. i never have a problem receiving email from friends when i know they're emailing me. does anyone have any idea what might be going on here? before anyone asks, the only firewall im using is a linksys befsx41 doing nat with port 25 forwarded to my server. im not using any exotic filtering rules. |
