|

Can anyone answer this generic question:
Can I plot under Linux? I have an old OCE plotter that recognizes HPGL. You know, plotting with a pen (hardware plotter) like a printer.
I figure I need to set up CUPS? Or what.
Does anybody know of some software to use with this? I figure I can use the GIMP.
Just throw out anything, I am not having any luck searching. Thanks! _________________ Get Serious - Get JAWA CZ

you need pstoedit to convert postscript to - among others - hpgl.
you can then setup a raw cue in cups or any other printer spooler to print. You can also write a script that does the pstoedit for you and use that as a backend in cups. |

That's it.
I see it this way..
GIMP (to make some artwork) -> output as ps -> use pstoedit to go to HPGL.
Then like you said, use CUPS to get it to the plotter!
Ya. Thanks so much. I was not finding anything.
