Hi,
I made some gentoo icons I needed. If someone like them, here they are (png/xcf):
http://linux.brachttal.net/gentoo/icons/
currently there are only three (gkrellm, gnomeicu and gnome_calendar). But perhaps I create some more in future...

Hello artists,
I'm seeking for a lot of icons flags to put in my free software presentations for my students. Someone have an address where can I found this, if exist.
If not, why do not a icon flag set for everybody? I believe that many friends like your flag at the desktop or website.

o grab the xcf-file from http://www.kraylus.com/best-base-l33t_flatfx.xcf
o open it with gimp
o open layer dialog
o select the layer containing the actual icon
o open the raw icon, e.g. thunderbird.png grabbed from about-screen in new window
o scale it to something around 38x38px
o insert it into that layer
o save as png
and don't forget to post the icon here

Just paste it into the 'Bubble image' like normal. (Ctrl+v) Then Click on the New Layer button (to the left) in the 'Layer Channels & Path' dialog and it will apear inside the bubble.
After that you can delete the old Layer 6 with the Delete Layer button (to the right) In the 'Layer Channels & Path' dialog.
You can also move the new layer around inside the bubble (if you want to) with Move layers & selections tool.
Hope that made any sense, I just got out of bed. |

how does one erase the background color of an icon ?
for e.g. take a look at tthese 2 icons:
http://www.icewm.org/icewm-logo.png
http://www.gentoo.org/images/icon-penguin.png
both of them have a "white" in the background. how do i make it transparent so i can fit it inside the icon bubble?
if i just use the con with the white background it over-writes the bubble with "whiteness". _________________ "Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?
