Okay. I grabbed the template and with some mangling in Gimp I managed to create a Go bubble icon.
[img:5f8f869236]http://mnorton.chaosnet.org/l33t_GAM_goban.png[/img:5f8f869236]
I might make one for gGo now specifically, now that I have the trick more or less done.
UPDATE: Went ahead and did it.
[img:5f8f869236]http://mnorton.chaosnet.org/l33t_GAM_ggo.png[/img:5f8f869236]
Though a Gimp question, if I have a GIF and I select the background, how do I erase it to transparency? I selected it, hit the eraser, and it went to the background color. How do I set the eraser to get to the checkerboard transparency?

These are some of the best icons I 've seen so far, good work to all.
However, has anyone put together a theme for them for KDE?javascript:emoticon('') _________________ I think I am, therefore I am (I think)! |

I would appreciate that, too. Together with the color scheme and the wallpapers it would be easier to give kde the 'gentoo look' I've made a little kde splash screen using some of these icons, check it out here. It fits nicely to one of the wallpapers in gentoo-artwork ... At least it's better than the default splash screen i guess |

Hi Friends...
I like almost all icons...
I like also the CLR icons because it's good for every kind of background...but how can I do it? I'm the Gimp base for the normal icons..but not for the CLR Icons (of "The Ennead") can you submit please
To submit one or more icons .. I must have some web-space? I can't insert an icon directly into the post! (?!)

Do you like?! |
It seems kdelook doesn't like you linking outside their webpage..
plz put the icons on another server, and DO attach them to the maintainer.
While you guys are at it making icons.. I think the links are on page 18.
AND DOOOO follow the naming convention!
l33t_???_iconname.png
where ??? is GAM for Game, MED for Media, etc... check the icon page for the correct syntax,. |

Here are a couple more.
One for zip disks.
[img:44d37778d1]http://www.rit.edu/~abr7206/l33t_DEV_zip.png[/img:44d37778d1]
The next one is for like a screensaver, I stole the icon from like a BEOS website. I think there is a better icon for this but I could not find it.

Let me know if you have any suggestions. |

Make a package for these icons and put it into Portage! It would be nice, so we could have these directly in KDE or Gnome... _________________ Werfu was here > |

I currently working on a Theme installer for these icons. (Its been quite interesting!)
My question is what icon set should I use for inheritance?
Meaning if this set doesn't have an icon what should Gnome automatically use instead?
Also is there an easy way for gnome to inteface with the current file names?
My experience has been that I must rename them to what Gnome wants.
EDIT: It is currently going to be Gnome based, mainly because thats what my WM is. I may do KDE once the GNOME one is finished. _________________ If Windows is an OS made by professionals, and Linux is one by amateurs. Ponder this, Noah an amateur built the ark, professionals built the Titanic. |

|
|
1. Use the ebuild mentioned above to copy all the icons to your /usr/share/icons directory. I will assume the icon folder that you use is "gentoo."
2. Grab the following file- http://home.post227.org/~cah2240/index.theme
Place it in /usr/share/icons/gentoo.
3. Next make in /usr/shareicons/gentoo the following directories. apps, dev, emb, fs, mime.
4. Place in the directories the icons that you want to use, they must be renamed to be the same as the actual program name. Ex. the mozilla icon must be named "mozilla-icon.png" and placed in the apps folder. A guide to naming can be found at http://www.ajgenius.us/gnome/gnome2-icon-themes.html
5. Go into the 'Theme' settings menu and add to your choice of theme the Gentoo iconset.
EDIT: I've abandoned the tar idea because of the duplication I found in the icon set. If one was made it would probably only satisfy a fraction of the contributors.
P.S. Tell me if I am completely wrong in regards to it. _________________ If Windows is an OS made by professionals, and Linux is one by amateurs. Ponder this, Noah an amateur built the ark, professionals built the Titanic. |

Hello,
after installing bibletime 1.3 I created a gentoo-icon for it using the splash-screen. Here it is:
[img:d7f504d09a]http://www.eternium.de/temp/l33t_MSC_bibletime2.png[/img:d7f504d09a]
I think it's much nicer than the old one.
Hope someone will use it. |

I'd like to see gentoo-ized versions of some of the browser icons from the GNOME2 themes. The selection in the browser section right now is pretty ugly, IMHO. |

Great work guys.
Only thing I couldnt find was a good icon to use for reboot. I'm using the light bulb icon right now, and while it has nothing whatsoever to do with a reboot, it looks good none the less. |

Hope that helps! I'll be working on more icons and will post them soon. |
