These icons have now become the Official Gentoo Icon Set, and a page has been created on gentoo.org for them. Good work everyone!

Those are gorgeous!
I would love to have a set as an icon set for KDE. _________________ A watched emerge never compiles. |

Nope sorry I got it from one of the Gentoo wallpapers and just went around it with the rubber tool. |

ah cool, no worries.
Can you make one with the Konqueror logo(globe in the gear)? (the one that appears when you boot and don't have a start page)
I can post the image if you can tell me what the best KDE FTP-client is in the portage tree...(just installed gentoo and can't upload to my webspace until I get an FTP client) |

I dont use KDE or any KDE apps for that matter, but I know what the Konqueror icon looks like, but im not sure if its the same as the one you are decribing (appears on boot) ?
is this: [img:83ed281a99]http://w0r.mine.nu/gentoo/konqueror-l33t.png[/img:83ed281a99] the one? |

It's real similar, that'll do. thnx.
What WM do you use?
Do you have a text editor (kate), gimp and home dir like that? cuz that'd complete my desktop icons
or if you could just link the 'bubble' I can use GIMP to make my own. |

That'll be perfect for the KDE menu,
I was hoping you could link the grey bubble so I could make some more icons. |

I have a request for Mplayer and an icon suitable for a terminal (Eterm or another). I have made a couple myself, but they are kind of crappy. Will post them here if I come up with any good ones. _________________ We used to have hominid cousins that were vegetarian. I had to sign upto the forums just to see that! lol, so here it is for the public: [img:4c6c86cc3b]http://w0r.mine.nu/gentoo/zenon1.png[/img:4c6c86cc3b]
First of all you need Adobe Photoshop.
In the PSD there are a number of layers,
[img:4c6c86cc3b]http://w0r.mine.nu/gentoo/layers.png[/img:4c6c86cc3b]
here xchat is my icon image, it goes below Layer 5 but above Layer 2; its optacity is also set to 65%.
Hope that helps! |

PS? traitor! j/k
Actually Gimp (so far) supports every feature PS does (except for cropping a selection [only can figure out how to do it with that boxy thingie]) I'm really blown away... Sorry about making you join (what's the best KDE FTP client? I can't get to my webspace with ftp command.. it has to support SOCKS too), now that you're a member you should check out forced induction tho! :p
I didn't set the opacity but could have (didn't notice you had) what's really different is your dithering AROUND the circle, mine=crisp yours=dither ????? |

It's the outer glow inner glow effects you set!!! (found 2nd feature not supported in gimp:) )
try deleting all the layers and saving the ones with these proprietary effects as a seperate png file pls. |

If sylpheed has an icon can you make one? If there's no official sylpheed icon then the existing mail icon does great. |

How do you change you kmenu icon? I would like to make it the gentoo icon and I can't figure it out. _________________ What Larry was saying is that if you make it too easy for programmers, then poor programmers will be able to do things best left to good programmers, and will inevitably do them poorly.
