I've had xmms-alarm working just fine before, but I'm doing a new install from scratch with Gentoo 2005.0. Judging by the dates on the changelog, I'm probably still using the same version of xmms-alarm. The problem is that the volume isn't working correctly. When the alarm triggers, it usually just starts from the volume at which xmms was already set, but occasionally it jumps to a volume near what it's supposed to start at. Then it increases the volume all the way up to 100% or sometimes it doesn't quite go all the way to 100%, but it stops well beyond what the max volume is set at.
So here's a typical example: start volume is set to 25%, end volume is set to 75%, and xmms is currently at 50%. The alarm triggers and starts playing at 50% and then it increases up to 100%. Or another example would be: start vol 20%, end vol 50%, xmms vol 40%. Alarm triggers and starts playing at 19% and volume increases to 68%. |
