|
|
It seems that whenever i install gentoo on a system, I end up with some sort of memory leak. I recently installed Gentoo 2005.0 on my system. I have Xorg with Openbox as a window manager. The problem is this, for the first few hours of running, gentoo (under the GkrellM memory monitor of used memory) says that it's using around 50-100mbs total. After that first few hours, it jumps for some reason to about 200, and remains above until I reboot. If i use top to show the amount of memory used, it says it's using 890mbs of 904mbs, which seems very wrong. Now, all the time, the system remains fast and has no slowdown, but I am still wondering why it shows as using so much memory. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
