I have a Duron 600 MHz.
This is in my grub.conf:
Code: |
default 0
timeout 30
splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz
title=Gentoo Linux 2.6.11.5
root (hd0,0)
kernel (hd0,0)/kernel-2.6.11.5 root=/dev/hda1
|
I didn't use genkernel!!!
Hope you can help me.

Unless you put your kernel in / instead of /boot, your root partition cannot be /dev/hda1
/dev/hda1 is your /boot partition (hd0,0)
Your root partition is the partiton on which you mounted /boot. This is probably /dev/hda2 or /dev/hda3 |

Thanks for you fast answer...
Didn't know what I was thinkin' about when setting this...
So I changed it to
Code: | [...] root=/dev/hda3 |
Now I get the follwoing error
Quote: |
Failed to open the device '/dev/hda3': No such file or directory |
But a few lines before, it tells me, that my ReiserFS Partition was mounted successfully...

Wow, you seem to be a PRO!
Ok:
fdisk -l says:
Quote: | cannot open /proc/partitions |
I'm writing down my fstab in the next posting...

It's in the fstab... so it should be, right?

Check if /proc is mounted with /bin/mount
If it's mounted, try /fdisk -l again |
