|

Hello there!
I have succeeded in installing 2005.0 release and everything seems to be Ok so far except for one thing.
I have a Silicone Image PCI controller that hosts 2 additional IDE hard drives on my home desktop. I have already used this hardware with 2.6.9 kernel and it worked all right. Thus, I followed the same configuration for the 2.6.11.5 kernel and compiled the PCI card support as a module. However, my expectations were not met because the drives were not mounted automatically and I am trying to figure out what may be wrong. I don't think it's a big deal since I can mount them manually after booting, but have not solved the problem. I would appreciate your wise hints.
Rgds

You could try building it in, i.e. <y> rather than <m>

Try to load the corresponding module during boot using /etc/modules.autoload/kernel-2.6 |

Thank you very much. Static compilation resolved the problem completely. As I use the drives frequently, I decided to follow this advice. |
