i use gentoo linux with the latest cups and ghostscript software.
when i run cupsd (over rc script or manually), it starts, it ist available @ ps -aux. but it takes 100 % cpu time and when i do an netstat -l, cupsd isnt listening to any port! so i cant connect to port 631.
What could that be? In log file it says
Scheduler shutting down due to SIGTERM.

var/log/cups/error_log

You might try going into /etc/cups/cupsd.conf and changing the LogLevel to debug or debug2, then restart cups and see if the cups logs fess up with more usefull info.
If you get anything interesting, post it up. |
