hi leut
versuche schon einiger zeit gentoo zu installien.
als bis aufs erste hab ich keine probleme mit der installation, sondern eher mit dem reboot danach.
wenn ich das reboote dann starte lilo ganznorm und ich starte mein gentoosystem.
Doch schon nach wernigen sekunden bleib der bootvorgang stehen und es steht folgendes auf dem bildschirm:
VFS: Cannot open root device "1605" or unknown-block(22,5)
Please append a correct "root"=boot option
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs or unknown-block(22,5)
ich kann dabmit nix anfangen. hab schon das zweite mal installiert und es kommt immer noch das selbe Problem
hab auch schon fstab durchgeschaut und die lilol.conf aber kann nix falsches finden.
hab eine stage3-2005.0 installation mit dem neuen 2.6.11 kernel
Hoffe jemand kann mi helfen.

| Ok das einzige was mir einfallen würde ist ob hdc5 wirklich deine rootpartition ist, ansonsten fällt mir auch nichts ein was nicht schon gesagt worden wäre... |

ja die hdc5 ist meine root propation.
aber installiere dann nochmal gentoo mal schauen ob der fehler dann weg ist.
