Hey, I am kinda new to boot scripts.
I have just got a Dell Notebook (D 610), and I gentoo'd it withing 3 days of owning it.
Pentium M, 1.6, 512MB, IPW220 working great <3 emerge
my problem is with wifi, I want to have it ask me for a ssid on boot.
I have looked at ifplugd, and I plan to use that for my on board gigabit lan. but its the wifi I really want to get working.
I am noobish, I know my way around my computer, and I have gentoo'd a few systems.
-Thanks in advance _________________ Dont make it idiot proof, make it work.

A friend of mine has suggested to me a method of using grub to pass the parameters at boot time to an init script.
I dont fully understand what he was getting at, but it seemed like it was a cool idea _________________ Dont make it idiot proof, make it work.
