|
|
After moving on to kernel 2.6.11, i noticed that I'm having trouble with mounting usb sticks. The stick is recognized in windows, and I even tried to fdisk again and mkdosfs -F32. fsck reports no error. But here's what mount returns:
$ mount /dev/sdb1
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb1,
or too many mounted file systems
Any clues? |

I have that problem under the 2.6 kernel. Could you please explain how you fixed it. What options in the kernel and such. |

solution: dont use "make oldconfig" , and accept the defaults for settings which you dont fully understand _________________ http://dev.gentoo.org/~dsd |

I was having the same problem trying to set up my mp3 player for the first time. mtools and dosfstools could access it fine, but I couldn't mount it.
This article solved my problem - maybe it will help you as well:
