Hi, I don't understand why Phoenix sucks so much when I run it. It takes 41% of the cpu as I write this line, without doing anything else (no download, no compiling, nofile playing around). So what's this ?

Regards,
Sébastien.

No, just normal pages, just like this one or any other page, just two minutes after it starts. I resolved the problem in unmerging phoenix and emerging galeon. I'm not so satisfied about phoenix.

Regards,
Sébastien.

Must be something on your end, not phoenix, personally I can't even see phoenix on the 'top' chart.

phoenix has some wicked bugs. I've noticed it using ~600 mb of RAM. Try the cvs version. It may work better.

I've noticed that phoenix-cvs is pretty unstable lately. Perhaps they are being active again to push a phoenix 0.6 out the door (not much has changed in cvs in the last month or so.. )

I love Phoenix though, but I'm typing this from mozilla :)

This is phoenix-bin 0.5 showing www.mozilla.org.
I took this shot from a remote-terminal.
It's my Laptop Cel466/256MB. I think it uses quite a lot of memory...

Okay, let's clear this mystery up with Phoenix. I just know that Phoenix runs really well on here but currently I'm running into some strange troubles with flash (same things occurs over on mozilla).

Seeing you are getting quite a high spike when you are typing into a web browser textbox, I am doing this right now and only see around 10% of CPU in usage (I'm on 2 gentoo forums at the moment as I type). Just ignore it anyway, it isn't that big a problem if you got some monster machine like this AMD XP 1800+ I am on!

I was running the cvs version of .5 but it kept giving my problems. So I reinstalled the binary. I also found that when I recompiled from cvs about a week ago my fonts looked worse. The binary one looks good. I agree that they are probably just trying to get .6 out the door. In which case I'll be switching back to the cvs.
