Hi there,
just got my ipw2200 working with native drivers, but it does not associate with my AP.
When I put my laptop closer to the AP, it associates fine, but as soon as I return to my desk, the packets are dropped or duped and then the connection tears off.
Funny is that under windows, the card associates fine when the laptop sits on my desk and the connection is at least good enough for using DSL1000 with full speed. Downloads etc. all work very well.
iwconfig gives:
Code: | eth1 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:"*****" Nickname:"*****"
Mode:Managed Frequency:2.462 GHz Access Point: ************
Bit Rate=54 Mb/s Tx-Power=255 dBm
RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Encryption key:*********************** Security mode:open
Power Management:off
Link Quality=67/100 Signal level=-60 dBm Noise level=-256 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:2267 Missed beacon:0

Why is the connection better with windows than with linux? |

Crazor,
I just had this problem too.
I think your Noise level is too low. It should be around -90dBm or so. I tried setting the noise level with iwconfig, but it said my driver didn't support it.
Originally I had installed the latest ipw2200 driver (1.0.2) from ipw2200.sourceforge.net. Then I realized this driver was in portage and installed that one instead (1.0.1). Now it works great!
Also your transmit power looks really high. Mine is at 20dBm.
