i am installing gentoo and am at the "difficult stage" well almost I need to "emerge"??? but when i READ THE MANUAL and do what it says the install (universal x86 2005.0) says it can't connnect to the internet and aborts the emerge so what do i do (i have used the pentium 3 tarball and have follwed everything the manual said) please help
oh by the way i had windows xp on the hda1 so all the hdas the manual said are +1 (if that makes a difference

| what is output from ifconfig -a ? did u try net-setup eth0 ? |
