Last night I was able to log into x, then I emerged xorg-x11. After that I can't enter X anymore :(

Here's the error I get.

I think the problem is with /dev/mouse.

How do I know where in /dev/my mouse is? Or in general how do I know where in /dev/ a device is?

I don't think its the mouse...It seems to be that your horizonal/verticle fequencies are off.

How did you configure you xconf?

Hi I have a CRT monitor... I found details on windows control panel... It's IBM 6546, still looking for the info I need on this.

Hmmm is my mouse ok tho?

it's a ps2 mouse with mousewheel.


I check /dev/mouse but it does not point to anything

Thanks! It works now, but the quality is bad. Hmmm I think it's a problem with the resolution, also mousewheel is not functioning. About the resolution, the display is full screen but the icons and text is very small, also notice that color changes sometimes.

Concerning the mousewheel, you might want to do a search for your mouse on these forums.

This seems to be a popular code that people add:
