Hallo,
ich wollte mal fragen, was ich schon immer mal wissen wollte, und zwar wie Linux, besser Alsa, eigentlich die Soundchannels handhabt. Wenn ich unter Windows als Beispiel eine MP3 Datei anhöre, dann kommt Musik nur aus den 2 Front-Speakern. Ist ja eigentlich auch richtig so, schließlich ist die Audioquelle ja nur Stereo. 5.1 funst ansonsten bei DVDs wunderbar. Doch wenn ich im Alsamixer Front, Rear und Center hochdrehe, kommen auch Stereo Audioquellen aus den Rear bzw. dem Center Speaker, was doch eigentlich falsch ist. Alsa "kopiert" sozusagen den Sound auf die anderen Kanäle.
Gibts dafür irgendwie eine Lösung? Hab ich vll. nur was "falsches" im AlsaMixer aktiviert? Ach ja, ich habe eine stink-normale Soundblaster Live!

*bump* ... Oder allgemein: wird 5.1 "richtig" von Alsa unterstützt?

allgemeine unterstütz alsa 5.1 
das mit dem stereo kopieren ist eine Einstellung von alsa aber ich hab des bis jetzt auch nicht wegkriegen können Oo |
