32bit sound only for minutes since kernel 2.6.11

hello!

i recently migrated from kernel 2.6.9 to 2.6.11 and was fascinated that my radeon 9800xt finally worked (there was some error bringing lockups after a random amount of time when running 32bit 3d-apps).

but alas! now the sound stops to work after some minutes of gameplay!
no problems in 64bit-apps, but 32bit-apps fail.
nothing in dmesg, nothing in any log, simply no sound. stopping the game and starting again makes the sound working again for some time.

i use a creative audugy2 zs and have the alsa-support compiled direct into the kernel. same config worked since ever, but now? any ideas?
