I'm trying to get reiser4 support for gentoo-sources-2.6.11-r5, and the only way I can really think of is to have the patches applied when all of the other patches are appled, thus being during the emerge. Well, I've gotten all of the patches to patch except for kconfig-help-cleanup.
I created a package called genpatches-2.6-11.05-reiser4.tar.bz2, copied it over to /usr/portage/distfiles, and added the file in properly into the gentoo-sources-2.6.11-r5 ebuild. Here's the the package that I rolled together:
5701-reiser4-sb_sync_inodes.patch
5702-reiser4-allow-drop_inode-implementation.patch
5703-reiser4-truncate_inode_pages_range.patch
5704-reiser4-export-remove_from_page_cache.patch
5705-reiser4-export-page_cache_readahead.patch
5706-reiser4-reget-page-mapping.patch
5707-reiser4-rcu-barrier.patch
5708-reiser4-rcu-barrier-license-fix.patch
5709-reiser4-export-inode_lock.patch
5710-reiser4-export-pagevec-funcs.patch
5711-reiser4-export-radix_tree_preload.patch
5712-reiser4-export-find_get_pages.patch
5713-reiser4-radix_tree_lookup_slot.patch
5714-reiser4-include-reiser4.patch
5715-reiser4-doc.patch
5716-reiser4-only.patch
5717-reiser4-mapping-tree-lock-fix.patch
5718-reiser4-mapping_cap_account_dirty-fix.patch
I originally had reiser4-kconfig-help-cleanup.patch as 5717, then took it out to see if the last two patches would patch. So the 18 patches patch the kernel, but when I try to do make menuconfig, it complains about kconfig
Anyone know how to get reiser4-kconfig-help-cleanup.patch to work? |

...there has to be a way to patch the kernel. I didn't see any files in the base or extra packages for genpatches that messed with any kconfig files.... |

Okay, so I've created a tarball with all 19 files, and it has 5717-reiser4-kconfig-help-cleanup.patch, with the previous 5717 and 5718 files being bumped down a number each. If I manually patch the kernel, the patches work fine, so I know they work with the gentoo-sources patches. Why can't they just simply apply themselves? Or is it that the ebuild calls for all patches to be applied as -p0 instead of -p1 (or does it apply them as -p1?) There has to be an easy way to automate this.... |
