I'd like to switch to gentoo from openbsd. Because I'm unsure of what all to disable/harden, I often just stick to openbsd.
Anyone know of a comprehensive A-Z gentoo guide (or comparable linux one) that can help me build a gentoo box comparable to openbsd's default security settings? _________________ If my post was helpful to you, donate $1 to Gentoo. |

Something like the Hardened Gentoo Project? _________________ Military Commissions Act of 2006: http://tinyurl.com/jrcto

That's a good place to start, but I was looking for something a bit more detail oriented. _________________ If my post was helpful to you, donate $1 to Gentoo. |

Spender states that Gentoo Hardened leader (aka Method) is not *that* good.
However the good thing with every open source OS is that you can do whatever you like with it. Hence.. you can do your Gentoo even more hardened than BSD. Here is a generic purpose, complete guide:

Add encryption on your hard disks and you're on secure enough. _________________ A happy GNU/Linux user!! |
