|

I'm using Gentoo 3004.3 under proxy, so I must use emerge-webrsync if I want to update my portage tree.
It worked great, but one day, it stop working.
Now, every time I try to emerge-webrsync, I get the following output:
Code: | Melchior root # emerge-webrsync

It is not automatic that your proxy doesn't support RSYNC. For instance I run Squid proxy which happily supports it so I can do normal "emerge --sync". Have you any control over the proxy? |

I have no control over the proxy (it's a squid proxy, and if I want, I could talk with the administrator, but it's difficult), but what I don't understand is why a few weeks ago it worked great, and now it only can download a very old tree :S _________________ | amd64 - 3200+ Newcastle || MSI K8N Neo Platinum 54g

There r 2 possibilities why RSYNC won't work then:-
1. There is an ACL on Squid blocking tcp port 873
2. The firewall is blocking tcp port 873
I appreciate you r trying to use web-rsync but if it's at all possible I would use the standard rsync instead.
Besides I haven't any experience of web-rsync |
