|
|
I have a win xp and gentoo booting system. only one problem... when I boot into linux it seriously screws my time settings, bios... so I never have the correct time...
and this also changes it in windows. even if I change it back I still have bad time in win.
I checked and the time is not synching with a server. also I live in venezuela, so the time is gmt -4, I don't know if this affects...
well this is it, and it has me baffled, if I only boot in windows it never changes it.

Try:
'rm /etc/adjtime'
Then, open /etc/rc.conf in your favourite text editor, and set
CLOCK="local"
Then set Windows to the right time.
I think this is a side effect of Windows setting the BIOS clock when you adjust it's time, and Linux's way of keeping time running smoothly (it detects if it's gaining or loosing). |

Thanks for the reply, will be trying it as soon as I can...
I don't think it's because linux tries to keep time ok, because it's not a few minutes... its usually two days and 14 hours... _________________ thesis. |

Try emerging "ntp"
then put ntp-client in your startup(rc-update add ntp-client)
That worked for me! |
