Raw PCI device in vmware?

Hi,
I just bought a new sound card (ESI ESP1010), which uses the envy24 chip, but doesn't work well with linux. I'm using vmware 5 for some apps that require windows, and I'd like to use my soundcard with it. Is it possible to give the WinXP in vmware direct access to a pci device if I don't use it at all under windows (snd-envy24 not loaded)? I didn't find an according option, but there's no other way to use that soundcard in vmware.
