Hi
the gdm login gets split between my two monitors. It works, looks ugly, so i want to change it.
I changed the PositionY, PositionX, ... parameters, but the greeter didn't move a bit.
In fact, i can't make any changes to the look of gdm using /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf
changes i make using nano /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf, show up in gdmconfig and vice versa.
Ah yes, i use:
gdm-2.6.0.6
xorg-x11-6.8.2-r1
...
i get
error stopping gdm [!!]
at shutdown too.
what should i do?

I don't have a dual monitor setup, so I can't help with that, but... baikingu wrote: |

The "error stopping gdm" message happens because by the time "/etc/init.d/gdm stop" is run, gdm has already quit. It's not a bug. See this bug for details. It happens because you've issued the shutdown command from within gdm (either at the gdm greeter screen, or through an xterm or whatever). If you drop to a virtual console (e.g. CTRL+ALT+F[1-6]) and issue the shutdown command while gdm is still running, you won't get the error. _________________ Join the adopt an unanswered post initiative today
