I've started to install gentoo for the first time and I've been following the install docs exactly (as far as I can tell) and I'm up to Starting from stage 1 > scripts/bootstrap.sh. The problem is when I try to run bootstrap.sh I always get this error:

Did you try searching for "unscriptable and object"? You need to upgrade Portage once by hand - unpack one of the rescue tarballs in /usr/portage/sys-apps/portage/files across your root partition, and then see if things improve. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
