I've tried my best to follow the 'qmail/vpopmail Virtual Mail Hosting System Guide' with some success. I can send and receive email just fine with no problems. The problem is using spamassassin/clamav/dcc with qmail-scanner. I followed the qmailrocks.org setup on a redhat machine and the spam filters worked awsome. With this new install some accounts that have been around for a while are getting 75+ spam per day. I used to be able to filter these out and add ':SPAM:' to the subject so mail clients to filter them locally.
I've read so many posts on these forums that my head is starting to spin. Can somebody take a look at my setup and try to help me figure out this problem?
I'll start with the errors I'm getting in the qmail logs...
Code: | # tail -f /var/log/qmail/qmail-smtpd/current
@40000000425db53c2808488c qmail-smtpd: Stray newline from XX.XX.XX.XX.
@40000000425db53c387fff34 X-Qmail-Scanner-1.25st: Process 23287 closed, parent process died |
And a get a number of these ...
Code: | # tail -f /var/log/qmail/qmail-send/current
@40000000425dba0204639e7c delivery 69877: deferral: Sorry,_I_wasn't_able_to_establish_an_SMTP_connection._(#4.4.1)/
@40000000425dba020463b5ec status: local 0/10 remote 2/20 |
I'm sure that's not enough information to solve this issue, but I don't know what else to post. Instead of posting every single config file I would like to see if anyone could point me in the right direction. Let me know if any other config/log would help solve this issue.
Thanks |

when i had a problem with qmail-scanner it wrote some error messages into
the /var/spool/qmailscan/qmail-queue.log file. does it say anything in your file? _________________ hegga |

Well it seems to be working, which is a good thing. But how can I explain the log errors? I have another Gentoo server running the same setup and I don't get errors in my qmail logs.
I need to figure this out and cut down on the number of spams that don't get filtered. |
