Ive Install gentoo a few times on this box. I Downloaded the newest live cd 2005 and I followed all the instructions for the stage 3.
After the first reboot I go to mount the cdrom drive
mount /mnt/cdrom
mount: special device /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 does not exist
I checked the /dev directory and there isnt even /dev/cdrom or cdroms.
Not sure what to do about this. Anyone seen this before? |

This is enabled by default in my 2.6 kernel IDE/ATAPI CDROM Support
This is all I need for a IDE drive right? |

I just found out other things that are normaly in /dev right after install are also not there like /dev/mouse. I reinstalled twice now and it does the same thing. |

udev problem? Btw, it's /dev/input/mouse0 or /dev/input/mice on 2.6. /dev/mouse is deprecated AFAIK, so it could drop away at any time. Also, this thread is a double. |
