Hi all,
I've been trying all week to get this working - I've read the forums, the NVIDIA HOWTO, the UDEV HOWTO, nothing seems to work.
Code: | $ /sbin/lspci
0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVidia / SGS Thomson (Joint Venture) Riva128 (rev 10)
$ uname -a
Linux susan 2.6.11-gentoo-r2 #2 Sat Mar 12 00:35:58 EST 2005 i686 Celeron (Coppermine) GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
$ cat /usr/src/linux/.config | grep MTRR
CONFIG_MTRR=y
|
I'm using nvidia-kernel-1.0.7174
nvidia-glx-1.0.7174-r1
udev-056
xorg-x11-6.8.2-r1
I've tried different kernels, different versions of nvidia-kernel and nvidia-glx, but nothing works.
When I try to modprobe nvidia, I get
Code: | $ sudo /sbin/modprobe nvidia
FATAL: Error inserting nvidia (/lib/modules/2.6.11-gentoo-r2/video/nvidia.ko): No such device
$ cat /var/log/kern.log
kernel: NVRM: No NVIDIA graphics adapter found!

Please help! |

Yeah, I had noticed that, but I was hoping to get it to work anyway... |
