ok hi all , just done a fresh install on a new drive , noticed the warning of a bug with e2fsprogs but used ext3 3 as my root filesystem. Used the mount -t ext3 /dev/sda3 as instructed...
Now he setup is finished and im booting from the harddrive now , lilo is happy and boots up but when it gets to mount the root filesystem i get a file missing or superblock error which dumps me either to bin/bash care of my passwd or reboots...
The install was 100% right im sure, tried to check and fix the superblock as sujested and even use an earlyer superblock but its just not happening.
It looks like this is a bug or is there something im missing as in with this e2fsprog bug?
Should i just use reiserfs for root, dont rearly want reinstall if i dont have too or is it back to 2004.3
Thanks

when doing the mount /dev/hda3 /mnt/gentoo command it should be
mount -t ext3 /dev/hda3 /mnt/gentoo
my ext3 partition is hda3 so that is what is in my example... just replace that with the partion that you have and everything will work fine from there... |
