I have followed the gentoo - qmail/vpopmail how-to on gentoo.org.. but I can't get it to work with the latest version of horde/horde-imp. I have confed so everything that I can see correctly.. I can login into horde now, but when i try to access horde-imp (e-mail) I get yet another login screen.. and it fails trying to login with the same account information. I'm guessing you have to change some setting in horde-imp to use IMAP and {localhost:993/imap/ssl/novalidate-cert} as authentication (as I have confed in horde), but I can't find it anywhere...

Have you poked around in imp's config/? There's a file there called servers.php. There you should find everything you need.
