*sorry for possibly awful english*

i'm using some kind of IBM ThinkPad 600E notebook (exact model is 2645-8BU) and for last few days (since i decided to install linux on it) i've been experiencing very hard but sometimes sensitive and inventive coitus with it's soundcard.
yes, i've read all topics about this problem in this forum, also i've read megabytes of text in logs, guides, other forums i was HREFed to by google.
and for some mystical reason all this stuff do nothing to help me to solve that problem.

some details:
(-1) sound cards works PERFECTLY in win2k
(0) i'm using fresh 2005.0 x86 distribution of gentoo with native (but manually configured) kernel.
(1) i tried to use both cs4236 and cs4232 modules
(2) i tried to use both drivers -- internal supplied with kernel (2.6.11-r3) and external supplied with ALSA-1.0.8
(3) i tried to emerge alsa-driver and to install it manually by ./configure;make;make install
(4) i tried to use alsaconf -- it really says that i have cs4236 (but not cs4610/11 -- it is a well-known issue), but then probing of this card takes quite an amount of time with no result -- after working for about 20..30 minutes it says it can't find any legacy cards.
(5) disabling quick-boot does nothing
(7) initializing notebook in BIOS does nothing, except of crashing kernel and making me to re"makemenuconfig"' and rebuild it. (those crashes have not yet determined reason -- i'm working on it)
(8) ... i've tried to do really many things during this 70+ hours of "good sex".. but it's ineffective at all

..

so, i even don't know what to try next. it becomes a pure shamanism now -- i'm trying disabling some theoretically independant devices in kernel, disabling/reconfiguring hardware in ps2 and so on...

remember, it works in w2k with no problem.

people who have this configuration working -- would you mind sending/telling me some detailed info about your system and kernel?
maybe i have bad(incompatible with this soundcard?) style of configuring and building a kernel? maybe i should try to use some wittingly working one?

or, maybe, i simply should immidiately kill myself?

.. :D:D:D
