Python Error During Install

Ive been trying to install Gentoo for a while now and emerge doesnt want to work. When i try to run scripts/bootstrap.sh i get a "Name error in : category or package part missing." error then i get error in /usr/lib/python2.2 followed by a "TypeError: unscriptable object: error", what the hell is going on? i get the same kind of thing when i start installing the kernel.

Sounds like you have the same problem as I did ( https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=32371). Might be worth trying what rac suggested (i haven't yet because i've had to restart the install).
