When I boot my server it takes very long doing this:

Why does it do so? I only have one disk in my server.

I realized that hdd must have been my cd-rom that I used when I installed gentoo. It is removed now. How do I stop gentoo from trying to find the cd that is not there? |

I'd need more information about what you've done and what your system is like...
Consider disabling the cdrom station in the bios, removing it from /etc/fstab...
