Which FTP client do you use to transfer directories with huge numbers of small files (eg 10000s of photos) in them? (on amd64)
When I use gftp or lftp, both of which are normally very good, they mostly fail to upload one of the larger directories completely.
gftp cancels the transfer when it enconters some filenames that probably upset the xbox (too long..?) lftp right now display thats it's transfering at 100kps as well as that it's waiting to reconnect, and actuelly it really just hangs somehow. Is there a relieable FTP client for linux? One that just completes the transfer, skips whats not possible and then reports. |

I've had some luck in that department with kasablanca, though it still leaves a lot to be desired (and dont try to interact with it while its doing its job). I like kasablanca as it resembles FlashFXP a lot but unfortunatly its still early in the development stage.
pftp is one of the best clients imo and will do the job, but has a steep learning curve due to the number of features.
You might also check out IglooFTP or swiftfxp, though I have limited experience with them.
BTW, there are xbox ftp daemons that will auto-rename filenames to conform to the 42 character length limitation and there are some common xbox ftp daemons that are broken and/or can also be the cause of your problems. |

Seems that Kasablanca doesn't like long file names as well!
Whaler Inn all the way!
Thx,

Ok what xbox daemon are you running. I can't remember what the name of it was. ehhhhhhh. There was a post on xbox-scene.com that said file system limitations. If you don't mind you can rename your files to less than 42 (hehe) characters.

Axyftp works very well, if you're not looking for one of those "frilly" FTP clients.
