Nvidia module not found after compiling kernel [SOLVED!]

Hi all,

I am trying to upgrade my 2.6.10-r7 kernel to the 2.6.11-r6 one, but once I've compiled it (with the same Nvidia option that in the .config of my working 2.6.10) everything goes fine but the X, that doesn't start and the error that I get is that Nvidia drivers couldn't be found.
I have compiled the nvidia option in the kernel as * not as M.

Should I do something to make the X point to the nvidia module properly?
I am newbie on linux, sorry if you find this a silly question. :oops:

You have to recompile your nvidia-kernel package by simply emerge it again.
Moudles have to be compiled against the actual kernel source, so compile your kernel, reboot using new kernel.
Recompile any package that generates kernel modules.

- Graphic card packages
- Modem packages
- Wireless card packages
- Special FS packages
- Vmware
- Fbsplash ( not sure )
