HI I wonder if it is posibble to install samba "light" I megrated from Debian/Ubuntu and for example there was package samba-client... it installs only stuff neded for mount cifs/ntfs without nmbd/smbd ... is it possible in Gentoo ?? I don't need those as I just want to mount, not share. Thanks

Hi,

I'm not sure, but under http://packages.gentoo.org I found this:

It seems to me that the "big" samba package is the only solution for you. Maybe someone else can help you.

Thanks for replay !

ye I saw it to.. but it's "server" part of it i REALLY dislike.

anyone else has proposition how to strip down is to "client" only ??
