Hi,
i want to print from my windows 2000 desktop to my linux Cups server with an HP 2300N LaserJet Attached.
I managed to configure the server to add the HP printer to Cups and a testpage was succesfully printed from te server.
I've added the following line to /etc/cups/mime.convs
| Quote: | | application/octed-stream application/vnd.cups-raw 0 - |
and changed /etc/cups/mime.type to include the following line
| Quote: | | application/octed-stream |
and both this to accept raw data from my windows 2000 desktop.
If i try to install a new network driver under Windows 2000, i select Connect to printer on the Internet or on your intranet and fill in the following adres:
| Quote: | | http://yoda.home.cap7.be:631/printers/HP_LaserJet |
Next i get a message that the server doesn't contain a vallid driver so i can install one localy (what means he sees the server and printer).
After installation of the printer driver, i get
| Quote: | | Could not connect to the printer . You entered a printer name that was incorrect or the printer is no longer connected to the server |
I know the address is correct because i can see it on the Cups Admin page.
[EDIT] I tried from a Windows XP workstation and it worked without a problem 
Any ID's?
