I'm a Gentoo newbie, sorry if this is a really stupid question...
My screen always shows as 640x400, even though I've set it to use 1024x768 in my grub.conf. Could anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong?
Here's my grub.conf:
Code: |
default 0
timeout 30
splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz
title=Gentoo Linux (2.6.11-gentoo-r6)
root (hd0,0)
kernel /kernel-2.6.11-gentoo-r6 root=/dev/hda3 video=vesafb:ywrap,mtrr,1024x786-32@72 splash=silent,theme:livecd-2005.0 quiet CONSOLE=/dev/tty1
initrd /splash-livecd-2005.0-1024x768

Fixed my own problem...
For some reason when I was trying to set up the bootsplash I hadn't chosen the correct options (in my kernel config) and so it was just going back to the failsafe defaults... |

wtf, thats worls longest kernel line in grub.conf. anyway it looks like you have set the size of the splash image in that line not your resolution.
Code: |
video=vesafb:mtrr,ywrap,1024x768-32@72 | not Code: | video=vesafb:mtrr,ywrap,1024x768-32 @ 72 |
