I have a working ~/.xsession file. When I'm in GDM and I select custom session and type in a username and password, it works perfectly. What I want to do now is to have that user automatically log in and run that custom xsession file without having to press anything on the keyboard. Right now when I set the user to auto login, it logs into this grey screen with one window that has four buttons in it. How do I make it log onto the custom xsession by default?

I'm not sure what it logs me into, so I guess it could be xdm. I'm not to familiar with xdm.

gdm = gnome login
kdm = kde login
xdm = grey 10 year old looking login. Looks similar to windowmaker

Well, what I see is a grey screen, but I can't log in. If I click with the mouse, it will bring up an xterm. But thats beside the point. I really just need to know how to set gdm to use my ~/.xsession when the user logs in.
