Hi,

long time listener, first time caller.

Is there any way to speed up GRUB on booting? It spends 5 or so seconds waiting after "GRUB 1.5". I think it's checking out my CD drive, because if I futz with it by ejecting then it doesn't pause there. I've trawled for everything about GRUB but can't find an option not to scan for CD drives.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Gef Howie.

Grub should not check anything into your cdroms. Have you any settings on into the BIOS to boot from cdrom? If so turn it off and the retard should go away.
